The weather has been fantastic this summer and I’ve had a chance to relax and unwind. I’ve also spent some wonderful time with the family while exploring parts of New Zealand.
The spirit of this song, Soak Up the Sun, by Sheryl Crow summed up our summer break for me.
“It’s not having what you want
It’s wanting what you’ve got…
…I’m gonna soak up the sun
While it’s still free
I’m gonna soak up the sun
Before it goes out on me
Don’t have no master suite
I’m still the king of me
You have a fancy ride, but baby
I’m the one who has the key.”
We spent a couple of days on a boat in the Bay Of Islands. This was an adventure having not spent any time on a boat before. We were able to see the Bay of Islands from a completely new perspective.
The scenery was amazing, the sun was shining, and it was calm the whole time we were out on the water – what a great way to start the year.
