To help me integrate a meditation practice in my life I decided to do a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course. It’s over 8 weeks and covers many aspects of meditation and bringing mindfulness into your life. Here are my reflections on mindfulness and the silent retreat day that you do at the end of the course.
After a week of serious rain (Auckland can be like that), Saturday was a beautiful sunny day.
The first walking meditation grounded me for the day. It was hard to slow down, but with the sun shining and the birds singing, I slowly eased into the day and boy did it rock!
The setting was absolutely wonderful. I relished the quiet. There were things that really inspired me and can still take me back so I feel like I’m right there, these images are some of those things.
Mindfulness is very real. I have the capacity for it. I’ve been doing it right all this time – who knew!
